The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet recently completed replacement of three bridges in Grant County through its Bridging Kentucky program.
The three bridges carry Taft Highway across Clarks Creek, Eagle Creek and Rattlesnake Creek. This three-bridge project was completed in two phases. The first bridge, crossing Clarks Creek, was constructed and reopened to traffic in June. The remaining two bridges, crossing Eagle Creek and Rattlesnake Creek, were completed and reopened to traffic earlier this month.
Each bridge was originally constructed in 1933. The work on this project will eliminate pre-existing weight limits on these bridges and will bring 75 years of additional life to each bridge.
This three-bridge project was the second project to be completed in Grant County through the Bridging Kentucky Program.
