KY 177 bridge rehabilitation project begins

COVINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 5, 2018) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) announces a bridge rehabilitation project will begin Nov. 6 on the KY 177 (Decoursey Pike) bridge over Bowman Creek in Kenton County, Kentucky. The project will include a new bridge deck overlay, bridge joint repairs and decorative railing repairs.  This bridge is one of 8 Kenton County structures in the Bridging Kentucky Program- a transformative initiative to restore 1,000 bridges statewide over the next six years.

“These improvements and repairs on the bridge are an example of the Cabinet’s continued commitment to improving safety, mobility and pavement conditions on our highways and bridges,” said Bob Yeager, KYTC District 6 Chief District Engineer.

M & M Services Co Inc. of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky was awarded the low bid contract for $237,000.

Work on the bridge will begin Nov. 6th.  During the project, one lane will be closed for approximately 30 days.   A temporary signal will be in place to assist with traffic control.

The overall project has a spring 2019 completion.
