The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will continue work on a Lawrence County bridge being replaced through the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet’s Bridging Kentucky program. This bridge carries Little East Fork River Road over East Fork of Little Sand. Construction began in November 2020 and is anticipated to be completed by the early summer months.
This Lawrence County bridge was originally constructed in 1925, measuring 43 feet long and 10.5 feet wide. The new bridge is built to last at least 75 years, allowing it to safely serve the Lawrence County community for decades to come.
Bridging Kentucky is a statewide initiative that represents an unprecedented commitment by the Commonwealth to improve the safety and soundness of bridges across Kentucky.
